322 EIGHTH AVENUE CHELSEA LOBBY RENOVATION
Commercial Lobby Design NYC

A Historic Lobby Reimagined for Modern Connection

"Office lobbies have become so much more than an entryway; they have become an extension of your office space.  We wanted to honor the original design while providing a contemporary, calming and welcoming experience for tenants and guests alike. It was a pleasure to once again partner with Re: Design Architects to bring our vision for the space alive.”

Jeffrey Gural, Chairman and Principal of GFP Real Estate

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Re: Design Architects transformed the historic lobby at 322 Eighth Avenue, Chelsea, New York NY, restoring its neo-gothic heritage while creating a contemporary, hospitality-driven arrival experience. Rooted in contextual research and art-built inspiration from the existing art deco mural, the new lobby palette and detailing reimagine the space with warmth and intentional materiality, encouraging occupancy and social interaction. The renovation introduces a curated coffee bar, sustainable living moss wall, and layered lighting to support comfort, connectivity, and amenity-forward programming for tenants and guests. This thoughtful lobby design enhances tenant engagement, supports return-to-office initiatives, and reinforces the building’s architectural legacy.

• Renovation supported return-to-office initiatives, tenant retention, and lease value improvement.

• Added tenant amenity coffee bar

• Increased security and flow of pedestrian traffic

• Preserved important historic elements of lobby
