Re: Design Architects transformed this loft formerly part of a printing press building into a vibrant, modern family home in the heart of Manhattan’s Hudson Yards. Designed for a blended family of two fathers and their children, the renovation balanced function, budget, and bold design choices to create a warm and stylish sanctuary.

The kitchen was reimagined with all new cabinetry, lifted ceilings, and dramatic patterned tile from Stone Source. Black trim, custom louvers, and a consistent palette tie together the space. Children’s rooms were expanded with transoms for light and flow, while the master bedroom features jewel-toned Lee Jofa wallpaper and luxe gold accents. A refreshed bathroom echoes the bold kitchen palette with graphic wallpaper and matte black fixtures.

The result is a cohesive, cool, and highly livable interior that honors its industrial past while supporting the needs of the family.

I've worked with Natalie for over 20 years. I was first introduced to her when we hired her to do a gut reno, design and build out process for a community foundation that I helped lead in NYC. we needed to do alot in a 2500 sq feet, and Natalie expertly lead us through the process and made everyone feel like their needs were met and interests addressed. Most recently, she helped my husband and me to do some redesign and upgrades to a midtown loft apartment that was badly in need of upgrade, and we needed to do it within a budget. Simply put, Natalie got us through. She listened and contributed excellent ideas including getting rid of a partial drop ceiling that completely opened up the kitchen, which we had been skeptical about.--Hugh

Natalie combines incredible technical chops, with a mid century/mod design sense and a calm, cool focus when things inevitably go awry with design/reno/build out projects, and when dealing with a range of contractors and permitters, etc. She's lovely to work with and she is the opposite of that old aphorism about consultants being people you hire to tell you the time on your watch. She led us when we needed her to, and was in the trenches with us listening, trouble shooting, adapting, and pushing to get us through the agony and ecstasy of the design and build process.
